A restoration estimator (Xactimate estimator, mitigation or reconstruction estimator) inspects and measures the damage, sketches the property and writes the line-item estimate for mitigation or rebuild work, usually in Xactimate, then negotiates the scope with insurance adjusters.
Estimators work in the field or from a desk and often come from technician or carpentry backgrounds.
