About Us
Lightspeed Restoration helps Austin-area homeowners and businesses recover from mold, water, and fire damage. Our goal is to be the best, not the biggest. We’d rather do one job right than three jobs fast. That standard starts with the people we hire, and we invest in them for the long haul.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re not hiring someone to fill a slot. We’re looking for someone to build a career with us.
- You take pride in your work. You notice the corner someone else missed, and it bothers you to leave a job less than right.
- You work hard, every day. Restoration is physical, sometimes hot and messy, and you show up ready for it anyway.
- You’re detail-oriented. In mold remediation, a gap in containment or a skipped wipe-down isn’t a small mistake, so you follow procedures exactly.
- You want to grow. You’re looking for a long-term career, not a short-term job, and you want to keep learning and moving up.
If that sounds like you, we’ll teach you the rest. Restoration experience is a plus, but it’s not required.
What You’ll Do
Mold Remediation (a large share of our work)
- Set up and maintain negative-pressure containment per IICRC S520
- Carefully remove and bag affected materials
- HEPA vacuum and detail-clean every surface, and apply antimicrobials and encapsulants
- Operate air filtration devices and keep containment intact from start to finish
- Prepare areas to pass post-remediation verification the first time
Water Damage Mitigation
- Extract water and set up dehumidifiers, air movers, and air scrubbers
- Take moisture readings and document drying progress
- Perform controlled demolition: carpet, pad, baseboards, drywall, and trim
On Every Job
- Take thorough photos and notes, because good documentation is part of quality work
- Treat customers and their homes with respect and care
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Use proper PPE, respirators, and chemical safety practices
- [Participate in the after-hours emergency on-call rotation]
Requirements
- Clean background check
- Clean driving record and a valid Texas driver’s license
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality
- Ability to follow detailed procedures exactly
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for photos and job documentation
- Ability to lift 75 lbs, work in attics and crawl spaces, and wear a respirator and Tyvek for extended periods
Nice to Have
- Texas Mold Remediation Worker license
- Experience in restoration, remediation, construction, or detailed cleaning work
- IICRC WRT or AMRT certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
What We Offer
- Competitive pay with raises tied to your skills and performance
- $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days
- Full paid training from day one, plus paid Texas Mold Remediation Worker licensing, IICRC certifications (AMRT, WRT, FSRT, OCT), and OSHA training
- Company-provided tools, equipment, and full PPE
- Mentorship from experienced Leads and Management
